Fascinating perpective, yet not one mention of the larger public benefit of EVs – reduced carbon emissions.
Nationally, the market for EVs will expand as Ford and others make major commitments to cleaner electric vehicles while also recognizing the inevitable demise of our fossil fuel/gas addiction.
I totally understand that the author feels that EV subsidies are unfair and wrong, and that we should allow market forces to drive the shift without subsidies. Maybe those subsidies will be removed soon as American consumers accept more EV options, but to not mention anything about EV benefits in fighting climate change? Sometimes our abhorrence of taxes, subsidies, and perceived government overreach seems to blind some from the bigger prize.
